Beloved, today the Lord reminds us that those who belong to Him are guided by His voice and formed in truth.
In the First Reading, the Gospel begins to spread beyond Jerusalem. Believers who were scattered preach the word wherever they go, and many come to faith. In Antioch, the disciples are first called “Christians,” showing that their identity is now fully rooted in Christ.
The Psalm celebrates God’s dwelling among His people. It speaks of a spiritual home where God Himself establishes and sustains His people from every nation.
In the Gospel, Jesus is questioned about His identity. He responds by pointing to His works and declaring that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. He gives them eternal life, and no one can snatch them from His hand.
Beloved, this is a powerful assurance: you are secure in the hands of Christ when you truly follow Him.
In today’s world, many voices compete for attention, opinions, trends, fears, and distractions. But the distinguishing mark of a believer is this: the ability to recognize and follow the voice of Jesus.
To hear His voice means:
Being shaped by His Word
Being led by His truth
Being sensitive to His guidance in daily life
God is not distant or silent. He speaks through Scripture, through the Holy Spirit, and through moments of conviction and peace.
When you follow His voice, you are not only guided, you are also protected, strengthened, and secured in His love.
