Word for Today
Beloved, today the Lord reveals the depth of His love and the call to live as those who truly belong to Him.
In the First Reading, Peter explains how God’s salvation is now also for the Gentiles. The Holy Spirit falls upon all who believe, showing that God does not show partiality. What God has cleansed, no one should call unclean. This opens the door of salvation to all peoples and nations.
The Psalm expresses a deep longing for God: “My soul is thirsting for the living God.” It reminds us that true fulfillment is found only in God’s presence.
In the Gospel, Jesus declares Himself the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. Unlike a hired hand who runs away in danger, Jesus remains faithful even unto death. He knows His sheep, and His sheep know Him.
Beloved, this is the heart of today’s message: you are deeply loved and fully known by Christ.
In a world where many feel unnoticed or unimportant, Jesus reveals your worth through sacrifice. He did not love you from a distance—He gave His life for you.
To belong to Christ means:
Living under His care and guidance
Trusting His voice above fear
Bearing fruit that reflects His love
You are not abandoned. You are not forgotten. You are shepherded by the One who gave everything for you.
Now He calls you to respond with love, obedience, and faithfulness.
