A Testimony from the Family of Rev. Fr. Calistus Onyia

“Jesus said to him, ‘Rise, take up your bed, and walk.’ And immediately he rose and walked.” – Mark 2:11-12

The senior sister of the ordained Rev. Fr. Calistus Onyia from Ituku endured heartbreaking experience no parent ought to ever go through. Her five-year-old son, born with neurological disease, has never walked in his life. Though treated for many years at Parklane Hospital, the doctors concluded with certainty that he would never walk. Each and every therapy, each and every visit to the hospital turned out to be unsuccessful. But there was some hope for her. Visiting Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka with the purpose to show gratitude for his help at the ordination of her brother, she turned to Rev. Fr. Mbaka in tears believing in the power of God of Adoration Ministry. Leading her family to the Temple of Miracle, where the Blessed Sacrament abides, Rev. Fr. Mbaka helped them kneel down for the act of adoration and poured blessed oil on the child’s spine praying fervently about the boy’s healing to be the evidence of God’s glory. And there happened a miracle in 24 hours – the impossible came true: the child stood on his feet and started walking! Surprise, admiration and joy arose at the same time. Everyone was wondering what had happened: the doctors were amazed, the neighbors astonished – but the family knew that it was only the work of the Almighty God.
